1. About the Department of Computer Science & Applications
The faculty of Science has eight departments namely Botany, Chemistry, Computer science& Applications, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology. The Department of Computer Science & Applicationsoffers at undergraduate level.The Department of Computer Science & Applications was established in 2018 to helps to students to acquire sound knowledge in Computer Applications in order to get employment.Computer Applications is a crucial programmeto find out solutions by programming to various problems that are raised in the society.The Computer Science & Applications program satisfies the U.G.C recommendations for curriculum and takes into account the learning outcomes and community needs. The faculty members are continuously working on updating the curriculum of the programs to meet the latest technologies and the rapidly changing society need in the field of Computer Applications.
2. Courses-Under Graduate Level
The University offersComputer Applicationspatternin English medium, in the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh at all the Learner centres and RCCs also.
3. Profile of the Faculty Members
The Pedagogy in Open University is different from conventional university. The central core faculty working in the university has to perform multitasks. They are involved in the planning and designing the programme, developing the self learning course materials, preparation of audio and video lectures, coordinating with internal assessment of students, counselling to students in both theory and practical sessionsand in evaluation process.

Mr. Narsaiah Battu, Asst.Professor of Computer Science & Applications serving the Department since 2022 to till date, with an experience of 10Months. He has published 4 Books and one paper and participated in 2 workshops/seminars.

UG – B.A/B.Com/B.Sc.Computer Aplicationsis one of the three optional subjects in the undergraduate programme
6 Semesters-6 core subjects+ 2 Elective out of the 4 courses, 2Skill development courses
5. Student Support Arrangement:
UG:The student is provided with the Self-Learning Material supplemented by the Audio, Video Lessons and Tele-Conference on specified Sundays. The face-to-face counseling sessions are conducted on Sundays at the study centers. All theComputer Applicationsstudents have to attend the study centers for their practical training classes which is mandatory.
6. Infrastructure facilities
Department of Computer Science & Applicationsis established in the Ground floor (right wing) of STML Building having the following:
- One Large Computer Lab with ample ventilation, A.C, electrification, working platforms and required furniture.
- A common toilet for students.
- RO system drinking water is available for students and staff.
- Depending on the need of practical’s conducted, LCD projector is also available.
- One Computer lab with LAN facility is available.
